Day 2 Emergency Services Show – complete!

Did you know that, the UK receives approximately 90k to 100k ‘999’ calls per day on average, with this number fluctuating based on demand? (as reported by the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) in 2021). I am sure it's much more than that now!

Which is why these last two days for me have been so special. An opportunity to represent a charity that supports not only the military, but blue light veterans who are diagnosed with PTSD, has been so worthwhile.

And, it has not all been about raising money. I can’t explain the feeling you get when you speak to someone, who has a loved one that would potentially benefit from the charity, and you know that the conversation you've just had has made a difference!

I’ve walked lots, I've stood lots, I've talked lots, but nothing in comparison to the amazing work that some of these people do, that I have come into contact with.

I have absolute admiration for every single one of you, the amazing kit that you use to do your job, with companies like Ruth Lee Ltd and INVISIO, and so heartfelt thanks for the work that you all do.

Now, a post would not be complete without my four-legged buddy for the two days, the absolute legend ‘Ferris’ and his owner Bryan Maddams #TeamFerris. Another day of exploring The Emergency Services Show, and showing what Service Dogs UK (with the help of Dogs Trust) can do!

I am so very proud to support them, and if any of the Copper Turtle network want to know more, reach out to Chris Wardman or I.

Lastly, a shout out to the The Salvation Army who were offering free tea, coffee, squash and biscuits to attendees. I happily contributed for every cup I acquired for myself and colleagues, I hope others did too!
