Hat No. 2 at the Specialist Defence and Security Convention UK

Hat No. 2 at the Specialist Defence and Security Convention UK - in my role as Founder/CEO of Copper Turtle.
With Chris Wardman busy at the National Oceanography Centre planning our forthcoming webinar, ‘What’s your Fish’ - capabilities of client ELWAVE and their non-acoustic sensors, I got to walk the floor at #SDSC and listen to the session: SMEs and the Implementation of the UK Defence Industrial Strategy (hosted by #SDSC Event Ambassador, Robin Anderton-Brown).
My key takeaways, from James Gavin, Sarah Windrum and John Kite were:
Be more accessible to hear the good and bad stories at events such as this.
Regional engagement teams will give more forward access to innovation.
Let’s simplify, not duplicate or replicate.
Specific to RDSCs:
RDSCs gives UK Ministry of Defence reach into regions across the UK.
They're a critical route into defence that doesn’t exist elsewhere.
The triple helix model offers collaborative relationships across the UK.
Help businesses grow and expand their networks.
Will ultimately drive down costs in defence.
Each region has strengths/roles they play, value is coming together.
Great to see - Chris Isaac, Gal Benshushan from Day 1 People, Mark Copp, Robin King, Harry Worth, Lindsay Compton from Canny Comms, James de St John-Pryce, David Zevulun, William G. and Stephen Buckley MBA CMgr MCMI.
Great to meet James Cooper from Fortra and Tylor Leeds from XMA – given the above, and our chat, I hope you’ll join the South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster.
