Very productive couple of days for Copper Turtle, with great conversations that lean into our strategic direction/growth.

Highlights:

The Future of UK Maritime: Government Strategy meets SME opportunity conference - hearing from Ashlin Humphreys (she/her), UK Ministry of Defence, Navy Commercial about the 'Industrial Capacity to deliver Warfighting Readiness'. What industry can expect from the Royal Navy – strategy, partnerships and faster capability.

Jonathan (Jonty) Slater from the new Innovation Hub at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency about the new trials area available in Plymouth, initially over the next 6 months. This, along with the encouragement to engage with him and his team, will support SMEs from the region no end.

Great to spend time with David Russell and Daniel Roscoe-Hudson, from our client, SBG Systems. Lots of really good conversations underway.

Great meeting with Ben Mason and Lesley Wrankmore from UK Docks Marine Services – thanks for your time, lots to follow up on.

Border Force and Maritime and Coastguard Agency – both really helpful discussions, honest feedback and the offer of pointing us in the right direction!

Fabulous to meet, Andy Partington, Roy Baker, Eugene Bari, Anna Lambert and Kassi Young from Griffon Marine Ltd. Let’s keep in touch and get a date in the diary over the coming months for a coffee and get to know you more.

Congratulations to Jayne Bradford nee Codling on her new role with Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) – you will rock it!

As always, great to spend time with our network - Kevin Watkins, Darrin Laishley, Scott J., Lorna Wagner, Simon Graham, Rob Watson, Tom Bettle, Charn Richardson, Mark Hamson MIEx. Gosh did it rain, and then, there was the odd moment the sun appeared!

And finally, spending time with Chris Wardman. At the moment, we are seizing every opportunity for face-to-face catch ups, with so much going on. We’ve got some exciting announcements coming later this month and over the coming months. Watch this space!
