The impact that we have

The impact that we have, and the value that it delivers to the people in the communities with whom we share our time with on this planet, is the of what Social Value is all about to me!
The interesting questions and the smile on people’s faces is also a huge reward, alongside spending time with the awesome Bryan Maddams and adorable Ferris, representing Service Dogs UK.
Yesterday, Sherborne Veterans Association warmly welcomed us to their monthly meeting and were keen to know about PTSD and how Service Dogs UK transform the lives of veterans from both the military and blue light services.
Each time I volunteer, I am getting more confident in my knowledge about PTSD, the charity and the impact that we can make on a life of both the person and the rescue dog. #TeamFerris are forming quite a trio!
After plenty of cups of tea, I came away with two bags of locally home-grown bounty! I feel a date and walnut loaf coming on once they are dried!
Whilst in Sherborne, it would have been rude not to pay the Castle a visit. Built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594, I was amazed at the role it played in WW1 as a Red Cross hospital for wounded soldiers from the front and Dorset Yeomanry, and in WW2, as the headquarters for the commandos involved in the D-Day landings.
Every day is a Copper Turtle learning day, is it not Chris Wardman!
