Fabulous to be back at the monthly ‘Things Connected’ event – today was sensors and electronics ‘101’ for me!

Huge thanks to Doug M. for the mind-blowing presentation on differential pressure, flow velocity sensors, used by utility companies to monitor leaks, turbidity (new one on me!) and water pressure.

These marvellous bits of technology are inserted into existing valves that feed data to a dashboard, to which companies can also connect existing sensors. Securely managed, the data can also be accessed via an App, which is also used for firmware updates etc.

Developed in less than 6 months, and originally designed for the Norwegian Water Board, the technology is now available to the UK market. The pace of technology advancements is outstanding.

Organised by Sharon J., from Royal Navy Maritime Enterprise, and hosted by SENTINEL FIRE AND SECURITY SOLUTIONS LIMITED at Holton Heath, who specialise in:

Fire Protection Systems
Security Alarms
Technology Enabled Care Systems
Analogue to Digital Conversion
CCTV Systems
Emergency Lighting

They also have Sentinel Electrical as well.

Thanks to Carryn Lefson for looking after us, and to Niall Harper and Grant Betts for the use of your facilities. I hope we will be back and get to know more about the company too.

Great to see you - Peter Matthews, Andrew Martyn, Phil Whitehurst and Paul B. I also lucked in and met office dog ‘Norman’ on the way out.
